Autographs and poetry by friends Owned by Sarah A. Daniels Fairly small book in an acid-free paper case. The book itself is small and red with gold swirls and the words "Flowers of Loveliness" stamped in. The first page is signed "Sarah A. Daniels, West Cambridge Mass, 1858." The album has many signatures and verses from her classmates and teachers at Cotting Academy. There are also some signatures from her family, and a page of signatures from the Winn Family. Some of the signatures are in french. Most of the signatures date from 1859 through 1861, although there are some dating from as late as 1883. There is also a newspaper clipping of poetry dating from 1884. There are some drawings of women wearing dresses inspired by flowers as part of the book. Book is in good condition, alhough binding and covers are somewhat worn. see Record book 1B p198 for donation info |
