The document was written on March 5th by committee-man John Cutter. It is a notice requiring the constable of the northwest precinct of Cambridge, Joseph Adams Jr., to notify freeholders and inhabitants of the area, who are qualified to vote, to attend a town meeting. The meeting would take place at the meetinghouse on March 13rd at 1pm. The tasks (numbered 1-3) required for the meeting were to elect and choose precinct officers for the following year; choose a committee in order to examine the treasurer's accounts; and to grant a sum of money to cover charges arising in the precinct. A response was required on or before the date for the meeting. The reverse contains a short response from Joseph Adams Jr. that he has notified the proper parties. Dated March 13th. |
