Indenture, between Joseph Cooke and John Addams, also referencing Adams wife Elizabeth. Top six lines are written in Latin, bottom seven lines in English. Signed at lower right by Joseph Cooke, with a security twist by signature in corner. Stitching holes along right edge. Made with iron gall ink on parchment. Description before conservation (11/09/2021): Obligation between Joseph Cook and John Addams. Top part is in Latin, bottom in English. Related to 1925.3.23. Deed is made of a heavy material, possibly vellum, and is folded but most of the writing is visible. Appears to be about 6" x 14". Part of the deed is written in Latin. References John Addams' wife Elizabeth. |
