Three World War I documents related to libraries. A: "Massachusetts Returns from War Library Fund," listing how much each town made and whether or not they made their quota, and also if they exceded their quota by a significant amount. Arlington did meet its quota. In the back is a list of contributions by state: Massachusetts raised the second highest of any state, only after New York. Printed January, 1918. B: "Massachusetts Library Club Bulletin, May, 1918" The month included a visit to Camp Devens, and discussion about the camp library. Written on back is "Robbins Library Arlington Mass: Miss Elizabeth J. Newton, Librarian, Nettie ?. Barton, Reference, Edith C. Rice, Children's Lib., Edith A. Whittemore, Stack Room were present at this meeting." C: "Special Message to Libraries for Food Conservation Week." Bulletin describing the importance of the event, and how specifically libraries can help. Printed November, 1918. |
