The document was written on November 6th by committee-man John Cutter. It is a notice requiring the constable of the northwest precinct of Cambridge, Josiah Shattuck, to notify freeholders and inhabitants of the area, who are qualified to vote, to attend a town meeting. The meeting would take place at the meetinghouse on November 16th at 3pm. The tasks required for the meeting were (numbered 1-2) to grant a sum of money to cover charges arising in the precinct; and to talk about the two seats that need to be replaced with pews in the meetinghouse. A response was required on or before the date for the meeting. The reverse contains a short response from Josiah Shattuck that he has notified the proper parties. Dated November 16th. |
