West Cambridge - Civil War State Aid: General Documents 1. Report from a meeting regarding the formation of a new military company under the command of Captain Albert S. Ingalls, including information about payment. Signed by the selectmen of West Cambridge. [May 16, 1861] 2. "3 years Aug 1864" Slip of paper containing unlabelled columns, but which appear to be name, company, time enlisted, and date enlisted. [August 1864] 3. "West Cambridge State Aid Pay Roll July 1st, 1865" Includes columns labelled name, when enlisted, term, company, and regiment. [July 1st, 1865] 4. Copy of above document, but with various comments written in. 5. Letter from the adjutant general's office to the chairman selectman of West Cambridge, discussing general guidelines about eligibility for state aid. [April 1st, 1864] 6. "State Aid Applications Certificates" Contains list of names, regiment, and company. Several of the names have a date listed. [undated] |
