A Puritan Service: Scene. Field near Boston about 1630. Enter. At the call of the drum, a group of Puritans, who came over with John Winthrop in the great Puritan exdus and settled about thirty towns around Boston. The people gather in groups. Enter. The Minister, John Wilson, and the Tithing Man. The congregation sing a hymn, unite in prayer, listen to a sermon, sing another hymn and disperse. |
