Image published in "Images of America" "Amateur cameras, such as the Kodak Box Brownie that an Arlington Heights dad is using here, created a paradox where historical images are concerned. They resulted in a proliferation of everyday scenes following World War I; however, these tended to be pasted in private albums and eventually discarded by future generations rather than being ceremoniously presented to friends and collecting organizations as earlier images had been." |
