Description |
Group portrait from the Old Maid's Party, Susanna Winn's 50th Birthday party, with 50 old maids aged 50 years or older. The women are arranged in four rows. The front row is sitting on the grass, the second row is sitting on chairs, and the back two rows are standing. Susanna is seated in the middle of the second row. The two women on the far left of the second row are holding a violin and a guitar. Portraits of 3 women are pasted onto the image in the bottom right corner. Some of the women are dressed in the latest style of the era, while others are wearing more old fashioned dresses. There is an electric or telephone pole in the upper right. Framed in a black wood frame with decorative beadlike carvings. Duplicate of 1977.8.6, which is smaller. |
