Description |
Ball gown of green satin with train and with an overdress of black lace. Bodice decorated with faux jewels and plastic beads. Single piece. Approximately elbow length sleeves. Black plastic beads are disintegrating. Probably the dress worn by Eliza Robbins at the dedication of the Robbins Memorial Town Hall in 1913, described in one inventory as being of "black lace." Similar in style to 1931.2.160, which was worn by Ida Robbins to the dedication. Unable to find maker information. Ida Robbins' dress was made by Raphael Goudstikker, Naples. |
