Large oil painting of Esther Johnson Bailey in elaborate gilt frame painted by Albert Gallatin Hoitt (1809-1856) 3/4 view of Mrs. Bailey wearing a dark dress with white ruffled collar, hair in middle part and ear covering side roll hairstyle of the 1850s. Wearing dangling earrings, and gold/glass broach, and gold chain attached at dress front. Red chair can be seen slightly in the background, but all else shown is plain brown. Frame is damaged roughly 36 x 38 x 5" |
