Description |
Partially finished sampler of silk thread on linen ground. Dark blue, light blue, pink, dark green, brown, tan and cream. Decorative lines around border and between lines. One set of block style letters follwed by numbers 1 through 10 followed by a cursive style alphabet with curly tails and then the name "Sarah." Last alphabet line is lower case and one line. Large space followed by partially complete line of feather street and then the name "Sarah Georgianna." (likely Sarah Georgianna Winn). Ground includes a series of vertical pale blue lines stitched through every 10th strip, likely to assist stitcher in lining up patterns. Heavily stained. Not mounted or framed. |
