Description |
Napkin ring, made during WWI (Abalone) from parts of an artillery shell by a wounded French soldier. The ring is coated in gray colored paint, with bits of rusty metal visible on the inside. The outside has a garland like design embossed on it, which is a line of three ovals with a large dot in each and with tassels hanging between them. Underneath the ovals are triangles filled with colored glass or shell. The design is repeated twice and is separated by a coat of arms with an anchor. |
