Metal (possibly brass) plaque marked "US" in center of the front flap Cartridge pouch, brown leather, main front flap, secondary pocket on front of case body under main flap, 2 buckles that cross over each other on back of case, cross-body carrying strap is broken. Brass acorn shaped finial at bottom of the case for securing shut Stamp on the lower left corner reads "R. WHITE U.S. ORD. DEPT. SUB INSPECTOR" carried in 1861 by Sgt. James A. Bailey Includes two rectangular metal containers to hold cartridges inside the case |
