Turned baluster taken from the stair way of Capt. William Adams' house, which was about 200 years old when torn down in 1835. The front is carved in a decorative pattern, but the back is flat. Written on the back is "Taken down 1855/ Taken from the stair way of the old Adams house/ supposed to be two hundred years old/ Loaned by Ella R. Marsh."
