2017.3.1 - Sideboard
Large mahogany sideboard with four cabinet doors along the bottom, three large drawers along the top, and six smaller drawers on either side of the center portion. The sideboard, with its fluted tapered legs, is a fine example of the Sheraton style of the Federal period. Glass tumbler with checkeboard pattern etched with stars in center of each square. Matched set to decanters 2017.3.7 and tumbler 8. This tumbler differs slightly from 2017.3.9, especially on the bottom which has ringed formations due to manufacture. Lighter in weight than 9, also. Per paperwork, this set "belonged to Amos Whittemore, the inventor."
