    19th century military leather belt with oval metal buckle embossed in large letters "US". Used in Civil War. Buckle has three hooks to attach to belt. Very faintly marked with illegible lettering and the date "1861" along the leather. Noted by Bauer, June: 'Mark on brass buckle: "US J.A. Bailey, CE Rgt. MVM"' Not seen on 3/22/2022 See Knapsack 1907.31.1A Note: Location on old inventory form: Box 4 Shelf 48

    Men's cane : formerly 907.31.3A Owned by Nathan Pratt. Gift of Mrs. James A. Bailey Jr. Ivory head, early long 4 inch ferrule. "Nathan" inscribed on metal band just below cane head. Body perhaps Malacca , hole for cord which is missing. Incised lines and dots on metal band and ferrule looks handmade.

    Women's hat : Spoon bonnet, checked brown & white silk, ~ 12 inches tall from top of brim to bottom of bavuret. Wide silk ties. Brim faced with what looks like strips of silk checked ribbon sewn together. Same ribbon as ties continues to top of hat & cross-wrapped in loop. One Drawn section. Bow at back , two inch bavuret. Work by Mrs. Marietta (Peirce) Bailey, the donor's mother. Date of 1868 on card catalog card

    Women's Bodice : cream satin bodice, matching skirt missing. Empire waist, dropped shoulder with enormous balloon sleeves supported with internal support of buckram. Straight, wide neckline.
